The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a(n) Quality Technician, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Performs complex tests, and/or experiments and analyses of materials and product samples to ensure quality products using various testing methodologies and equipment


• Provides analyses based on a complete understanding of quality procedures, basic statistics, techniques, products, and equipment


• Documents test results, maintains records, and prepares summary reports that may be used by other departments or business functions.  Communicates results to appropriate staff


• Performs calibration of test equipment and standardization procedures prior to its use


• Participates as a team member on problem solving teams or new product development/test method development teams

Your Skills and Expertise 
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) in a technical discipline from an accredited institution


• Three (3) years of general laboratory experience in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• ASQ Certification as a Quality Technician or equivalent


• Five (5) years or more of related laboratory experience (chemistry, biology, pharmacy, etc.) in a private, public, government or military environment


• Strong verbal communication in a team setting


• Excellent mechanical aptitude and problem solving / analysis skills to operate and troubleshoot equipment as well as improve processes


• Experience in quality control procedures and testing


• Basic statistical calculations and mathematical skills


• Basic computer literacy and competency (including MS Office suite)


• Experience with computer reporting of quality data entry
