The position is situated within the IaaS department of the Chubb Enterprise Infrastructure Services (EIS) organization. The role is Software Defined Network oriented at an engineering level.
Qualifications:
3 to 5 years of directly related experience supporting SDN operations and engineering
Specific expertise with VMWare NSX, Cisco ACI & SDA, & Cisco SDWAN
Cloud networking expertise (Azure, AWS, GCP)
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Design and oversight of SDN fabrics from multiple vendors with a focus on stability, scalability, automation, and performance
SDN Operational deployment guidance and assistance
SDN migration planning
Investigation and diagnosis of incidents and problems relating to SDN and related services.
Identify and manage risks within the SDN platforms
Ensure that system improvements and changes are implemented and monitor effects of modifications.
Design capacity and performance KPIs and automated responses to breached thresholds
Incorporate monitoring, alerting, availability, and recovery.
Produce extensive detailed documentation according to Chubb standards
Operate in an Agile environment
Act as a reference and resource to leadership and Operations organizations
Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:
Extensive and recent experience in SDN in a large enterprise
In depth understanding of underlay network technologies in the data center and branch
Knowledge of BGP, OSPF, & EIGRP
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities
Scripting and APIs
Packet analysis
Understanding of standard network protocols such as DNS, DHCP, NTP, VRRP, CDP, etc.
Strong writing skills
Familiarity with DevOps tooling
Familiarity with ADM (Application Dependency Mapping) concepts
The ability to debug complex-cross systems problems, and document root cause
Demonstrate knowledge across a range of technology towers outside of network specialties
Work with dispersed global teams across technical towers
Self-driven with the ability to manage workload without direct supervision
