Position Summary

We are looking for an intern with the desire to participate in hands-on learning in the wine industry Supply Chain.  A specific focus around continuous improvement within the warehousing and distribution department. This role will be project based and focus specifically on opportunities to improve daily operations.

This is a temporary assignment, generally between June through August. Schedules are determined on an as needed basis.

Responsibilities:

• Learn and understand department sites and operations


• Establish clear, measurable goals in assigned functional areas and monitoring systems to drive accountability.


• Coordinate and support continuous and varied communications to keep people informed of the initiative’s status, recent learnings, and to recognize success.


• Support and enable department-wide results in productivity, cost savings, and quality improvements.


• Compliance with all Company policies and procedures.


• Develop a thorough understanding of warehouse processes and practices, including how other business units within the company impact distribution. 


• Assist with coordinating and assigning daily and weekly work schedules. 


• Collaborate with team members, observe floor workflow and adjustments to achieve optimum level of efficiency.


• Assist the Warehouse Supervisor in developing and maintaining a collaborative and innovative work environment

Minimum Qualifications:

• Ability to work from June through the end of August


• Currently pursuing undergraduate degree or recently graduated


• Experience in computer applications (Excel, Word, and Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to handle multiple tasks. 


• Strong Excel skills


• Strong interpersonal skills.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

• Works outdoors/indoors


• Works in warm/cold climates


• Works in high places


• Works on wet surfaces


• Is exposed to loud noise, fumes and/or toxic chemicals


• Works near moving, mechanical parts and lift truck traffic


• Must be able to move up to 55 lbs


• Primary office environment may be warehouse/distribution setting
