Job Description:

Barnes Healthcare Services is currently seeking a caring and dynamic Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to assist patients in their home environment in the Gainesville, Florida, area. The RRT should possess the clinical expertise to assess patients for respiratory equipment needs, disease management, and for the selection and troubleshooting of appropriate respiratory equipment and/or services provided to meet those needs. The RRT should be skilled in instructing patients and/or caregivers on the care and use of oxygen systems, nebulizer medications, PAP therapy, ventilation therapy, as well as, other physician-prescribed therapies associated with respiratory care and disease management.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Offer clinical expertise in providing respiratory related products and services of the company to patients on service.


• Perform setup, maintenance, education, and troubleshooting of all Respiratory Equipment to the patient and caregiver in both the home and office setting.


• Demonstrate effective time management skills to accomplish all required duties in an efficient manner.


• 50% of the time will be spent in a vehicle driving to patient homes.


• Ability to understand and explain insurance qualifications and guidelines for all respiratory equipment.


• Ventilation setup, management, troubleshooting, and education for patients and caregivers.


• Ability to be on a rotation for on-call duties for after-hour emergencies and setups


• Assess patients, educate on disease management, prevention, and environmental factors that may affect the disease state along with providing consistent follow-up.


• Maintain proper confidentiality always when answering inquiries.


• Maintain clear documentation on all activities that concern patient care and customer contact.

• Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy required


• Current Respiratory Therapist license in good standing in the State of employment


• Clean driving record


• Two years of HME/DME preferred
