Job Description:

Full Time, 12 Hour Shifts, Every Other Weekend Off, Flexible Schedule

Premium Pay in Float Pool

Available Shifts:

Day Shift: 7 a.m. - 7 p.m.

Night Shift: 7 p.m. - 7 a.m.

About NHC's Knoxville Area Float Pool: Float Pool RN's could work at any of the NHC's in and around Knoxville. Including: NHC Athens, NHC Farragut, NHC Fort Sanders, Holston Health and Rehab, NHC Knoxville, and NHC Oak Ridge. Float Pool partners will work a pre-established schedule at the Float Pool Manager’s discretion.

Licensure: Graduate of a nursing program accredited by the State. Maintains a current unencumbered license and can practice in the state of Tennessee.

Experience: Two years of RN experience required.

Registered Nurses participating in NHC's Knoxville Area Float Pool agree to work at NHC Athens, NHC Farragut, NHC Fort Sanders, Holston Health and Rehab, NHC Knoxville, and NHC Oak Ridge. They will support the mission of NHC by exemplifying “The Better Way” through leadership and demeanor. As well as represent the center in a positive manner both in the medical community and in the community as a whole.

Prerequisites/Eligibility and Follow-up Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program


• Maintains a current unencumbered nursing license and can practice in the State of Tennessee


• Experience: Two years of RN experience required


• All facility pre-employment requisites (i.e., background, references) must be met


• Employee is responsible for completing all mandatory facility and nursing educational competency requirements


• Orientation to all campuses must be completed before accepting a shift


• Adhere to all facility and nursing policies


• Skills will be evaluated and/or assessed within 30 days of hire

Job Knowledge and Capabilities:

• Registered Nurses are responsible for maintaining clinical competency as evidenced by application of integrated nursing knowledge and skills, leadership and communication skills.


• Utilizes the nursing process in assessment, planning and implementing care.


• Exhibits organizational ability related to workflow, prioritizing to meet the patient care needs


• Integrates current standards of practice as well as local, state, and federal regulations related to nursing services in the care of patients.


• Practices continuous quality improvement thinking and problem-solving skills.


• Other Duties as Assigned.

Scheduling and Other Staffing Issues:

• NHC Knoxville area RN's are required to work at NHC Athens, NHC Farragut, NHC Fort Sanders, Holston Health and Rehab, NHC Knoxville, and NHC Oak Ridge as needed
