Location: Fort Belvoir, VA

Candidate must be able to operate state of the art building heating and cooling systems using the BAS. The ability to repair and rebuild pumps is a plus. Knowledge of large central air handling equipment is a must.

The Journeyman Stationary Engineer is responsible for the maintenance, repair, installation and operation of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) equipment and related systems to include HVAC controls. This position is also responsible for maintaining and testing electrical and power systems and will assist with planned repair and replacement projects as assigned. Performs assigned recurring work via the projects Preventive Maintenance Program.

Qualifications:

• Three (3) to five (5) years of related work in the maintenance and repair of HVAC, electrical and power production systems. Experience with pneumatic VAV and Direct Digital Control system is highly desired. Experience with Quality Control procedures and processes a must for this position. Experience with system tracing and diagnostics will be very advantageous to successful applicant.
• Minimum of three years' experience operating medium to high temperature boilers, chillers and related equipment. Emergency Diesel generator and switchgear experience preferred.
• Candidate will require basic computer skills.
• Basic building automation system knowledge is a plus.
• Must be able to communicate in English both verbally and written.
• 3rd Class Boiler License.
• Universal CFC.

Will be required to occasionally lift objects weighing up to fifty pounds. Must be able to climb stairs to access maintenance areas. Work may be conducted in confined areas with noise hazards.

This position requires knowledge of chemical feed systems and the inherent hazards that come with the system. May be exposed to noise levels requiring hearing protection. Work is performed during various shifts covering 24\/7 operations.
