Are you an Automotive Mechanic / Technician looking for a dynamic company to join? Roush has an immediate day shift opening for an enthusiastic Automotive Mechanic / Technician. This position is based on-site with our customer in South Carolina.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintains vehicle functional condition by listening to operator complaints, conducting inspections, repairing engine failures, repairing mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions, and replacing parts and components
  • Verifies vehicle serviceability by conducting test drives, adjusting controls and systems
  • Complies with state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards
  • Maintains vehicle records by recording service and repairs
  • Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading technical publications
  • Installing measurement equipment to various components of the vehicle
  • Supporting test cases on vehicle to validate repairs/updates, including test drives when necessary

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3 years of experience as an Automotive Mechanic / Technician
  • Must have valid driver license and meet motor vehicle record (MVR) requirements
  • Must have good organizational skills
  • Must have good attention to detail
  • Must be a self-starter and willing to learn
  • Must have own tools with rolling toolbox
  • Must be able to read, comprehend & execute written procedures
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Must be flexible to work overtime and weekends

Preferred Skills:

  • State/ASE certifications preferred
  • Experience with electrical/CAN (Controller Area Network) systems
  • Experience with light body modifications
  • Experience with light assembly
  • Experience in a high school auto shop program or enrolled in a skill training program
