Position Description:
Job Summary
The Accounting Manager is a key leadership role in the Ametek Programmable Power Finance Department. Regular responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, preparing key monthly financial statements, performing month-end close duties, completing/reviewing account reconciliations, performing sales incentive/commission reporting, completing monthly sales contract review and various other general accounting functions. The Accounting Manager manages and oversees the Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable functions while establishing and enforcing a robust internal control and compliance environment. The Accounting Manager reports directly to the VP Finance / Business Unit Controller and will work across all levels of the organization.

Roles & Responsibilities
This position has responsibility for:

• Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships
• Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable & accounts receivable
• Help with quarterly and year-end financial audit activities and the annual corporate internal audit
• Assess current practices and procedures, and make recommendations for improvements
• Reporting monthly actuals and related webforms into HFM
• Lead annual fixed asset physical inventory
• Monthly Sales Contract review including revenue recognition and compliance with ASC606
• Performance of quarterly SOX controls and related reporting to Corporate HQ
• Reconcile and analyze assigned general ledger accounts consistent with GAAP and corporate accounting policies to ensure close timing is met
• Develop departmental cost tracking process and complete monthly preparation of related reporting
• Review and submit sales rep commissions for payment
• Prepare and submit sales incentive program calculations for payment
• Prepare corporate year-end packages including statutory reports, and provide comprehensive year-end Federal and State Tax packages
• Perform Ad Hoc analysis and projects as requested.

Position Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications (Experience and Skills)
• 7-10 years’ experience in a finance or accounting role
• Prior Management Experience / Demonstrated Leadership
• Knowledge of GAAP and ASC 606 Revenue Recognition
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent analytical skills
• Expertise in MS Excel (creating spreadsheets and using advanced formulas)

Preferred Qualifications
• Cost Accounting experience strongly preferred
• HFM experience
• Oracle ERP experience
• Manufacturing experience

Education Requirements
• BA with emphasis in Accounting or Finance
