Job Description
Responsible for generating a meaningful volume of new commercial finance clients
Generating secured lending solutions for re-capitalization, growth situations, mergers and acquisitions, turn-around situations, for middle market and large corporate clients
Develop referral sources and analyze prospective clients to originate and execute large and core middle market transactions
In addition to direct calling on companies, the Vice President within ABL will develop external sources to ensure complete coverage of their assigned market area, including investment bankers, consultants, accounting firms and private equity groups
The role will also leverage CIT's franchise by developing internal referral sources within the corporate banking channels
Serves as primary contact with prospective and current customers
Identifies business needs and sales opportunities
Achieve individual annual production and growth goals for loans, deposits and fees. This will ensure the bank meets its overall financial targets and conforms to credit terms
Qualifications
Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance or related field required, MBA desired
Minimum 3-5 years' experience in Asset-Based or Commercial Lending
Must have direct calling experience at the CEO, CFO and MD level
Ability to source leads and convert prospects to clients
Demonstrated presentation sales, negotiation and influencing skills
Demonstrated success working collaboratively to achieve team goals
Experience in underwriting commercial banking credits: knowledge of complex credit transactions along with a good knowledge of the state and federal regulations that impact the financial services segments
Advanced knowledge of commercial C&I bank products and services that result in successfully capitalizing on all opportunities to cross-sell the bank's products
A general knowledge of deal structuring
Proficient computer skills, including the ability to develop and maintain a contact database and maintain records in SalesForce.com
