Golder is seeking a Geologist to join our Richmond, VA office. In this role you will have opportunities to use your knowledge of geology, hydrogeology, geochemistry, physics, etc. to provide world-class consulting services to a variety of clients.

Responsibilities of the role will include:

Performing field work, data collection, data interpretation and evaluation; Perform office-based data review and geologic field reconnaissance and mapping for the identification of geologic hazards; Perform subsurface field geologic exploration tasks including drilling and test pit explorations; Perform various media sampling (groundwater, surface water, soil, air, etc.); Perform Phase I/II Environmental Site Assessments consistent with ASTM standards; and Perform data compilation, report writing and other related duties to support a project team.

Required:

BS in Geology or Hydrogeology required; The candidate must be detail-oriented, and a team player with good communication, analytical, organization, and time management skills; Experience performing soil classifications is required; Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills are required, along with willingness to work as part of a group; Ability to operate and maintain field testing and monitoring equipment; Exhibit strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite; experience with other data analysis and database tools is a plus; Performance of work in inclement weather conditions following OSHA requirements; Ability to lift and transport a minimum of 50 pounds on a regular basis during the course of work; Ability to safely operate a vehicle on behalf of the company; Willingness and exhibit a willingness to travel for field work as dictated by project demands which could be upwards of 50% of the time and periodically adjust personal schedules to meet project needs; and Ability to work in a fast paced, ever changing environment.

Desired:

Completed 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER health and safety training and current, valid refresher course. Master's degree in Geology or Hydrogeology preferred.
