Senior Storage Engineer - Cloud at Nvidia Corporation in Santa Clara, California

Job Description:

NVIDIA is looking for a Senior Storage Engineer to develop a cloud storage infrastructure. The goal is to craft a reliable, scalable and efficient storage to support NVIDIA software development workflows and tools, including CI/CD pipelines, compute resource management flow and developer productivity tools. The storage is serving the needs across the whole software stack for NVIDIA from Graphics Drivers to Autonomous Vehicles to Deep Learning frameworks. To achieve this goal, we are looking for an engineer who has a deep understanding of object storage and NAS, outstanding design skills and a track record in building and delivering large-scale storage.

What you'll be doing

• Designing and developing storage features for NVIDIA's colossal distributed storage systems
  
  


• Accelerating those storage systems by demonstrating; DPU and other technologies
  
  


• Determining ways to bring these powerful data storage systems to bear on the hungry GPUs churning through extensive machine learning workloads.
  
  

What we want to see

• Proven technical foundation in distributed systems in general and distributed storage systems in particular
  
  


• Familiarity with foundational technologies used in high performance computing such as RDMA, InfiniBand, and RoCE
  
  


• Understanding of the internals of commonly used Big Data and HPC software infrastructure such as Apache Spark, Hadoop, and Kafka
  
  


• General web networking knowledge (DNS, TCP/IP, HTTP, load balancing, firewalls)
  
  


• Baccalaureate degree in CS, CE, or a related discipline and 4-7 years of working experience, or a Ph. D. specializing in areas mentioned above or equivalent experience.
  
  

Ways to stand out

• Working knowledge of file system internals
  
  


• Deep knowledge of network file system protocols
  
  


• Experience developing features for OpenStack Swift or other distributed storage systems
