Title: Senior Vice President, Platform Engineering
Summary of Role:
The Global Head of Platform Engineering will be responsible for the delivery of the core public cloud infrastructure for the Finance & Risk Solutions business. This is a hands-on role that defines core competencies across DevOps, SDLC, SRE, automation, and global scale critical to product delivery. The ideal candidate will ruthlessly elide duplicative solutions and strive to make infrastructure ‘transparent’ to accelerate product delivery; they understand the virtuous continuum between product development and robust infrastructure. Understanding how to build repeatable, composable software stacks fit for purpose is a must, as is familiarity with modern data architecture and pipelines. This is a ‘ground floor’ opportunity to create a revenue-critical capability within technology and build a world class team.
Critical Responsibilities:
Provide hands-on leadership, direction and mentorship for cloud-ops and cloud platform development
Build a world-class team that can deliver on DevOps, SDLC, SRE and platform best practices to scale and accelerate product delivery
Deliver a cloud platform vision aligned with product development, including a plan for evolutionary, iterative updates that actualize the larger vision over time.
Ability to assess and execute on lift-and-shift, improve-and-move, and cloud-native migrations to eliminate data center footprints and increase operational agility
Set new standards in executional and operational excellence for DevOps, automation, and SRE, and cloud-native application/ecosystem deployment
Build strong relationships and operating rhythms with leaders inside and outside their core product.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in CS or MIS required; Master’s preferred
10+ years of technical leadership with robust engineering teams
Expertise in DevOps principles, including CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation
Expertise in containerization and orchestration frameworks, and tradeoffs
Deep AWS expertise, particularly in moving on-prem workloads to the cloud
Expertise in server configuration and deployment tools
Proficiency in data pipeline architectures, particularly cloud-native offerings on AWS
OpenSource contributions to demonstrate work a plus
Culture carrier, with the ability to positively influence peers and directs and grow a sustainable team
Good knowledge of algorithms and data structures.
Ability to debug large scale codebases using the available tools.
Collaborative and able to influence across the organization.
Full stack knowledge of systems fundamentals
