Position Overview

This is a skilled position involving the safe and efficient installation, maintenance, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures. Candidate will work in accordance with relevant codes and will work on a variety of electrical based projects.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)


  • Learn and follow safety regulations and document thought process to eliminate hazards

  • Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, motors or other components.

  • Repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using hand tools or power tools.

  • Assemble, install, test, or maintain electrical 3 phase and Single Phase systems or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, or fixtures, using hand tools or power tools.

  • Test electrical 3 phase and Single Phase systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testing devices, such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, or oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.

  • Use a variety of tools or equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment, such as oscilloscopes, ammeters, or test lamps, while understanding the limitations of tools and test equipment.

  • Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.

  • Inspect electrical 3 phase and Single Phase systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards (Arc Flash), defects, or the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.

  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, or components, using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.

  • Independent work skills and critical thinking

Requirements


  • Maintain current electrician's license/ identification card/ NFPA 70E Training.

  • Employee will be supplied with proper electrical small hand tools.

  • Valid State driver’s license

Education/Experience


  • 5-9 years’ experience working in an electrical industrial environment

  • NFPA 70E Training, Electrical Safety Skills

  • Understanding of leadership skills and strong communication skills a plus

Physical Demands and Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to crawl, kneel, bend, and reach with hands and arms above their shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move anywhere up to 50 lbs. Physical abilities test will be required. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid outside weather conditions; and extreme cold and/or heat.
