Associate Creative Director at Inmar in Austin, Texas

Position Summary:

Inmar Intelligence is looking for a rockstar Associate Creative Director to join our Inmar Creative squad. We do everything from product-focused UX/UI to motion graphics and video to just about everything else in support of the rich Inmar brand. Are you equal parts art and science? Are you a seasoned inventor of truly tasty design solutions and mind-changing creative concepts? Are you known for a cool head, winning smile and sense-of-humor in a deadline-driven and highly agile environment? If so, then we should talk.

Primary Accountabilities:

Technical (50%)


  • Solve complex user-experience challenges through gorgeous, simple and clear design -- Whether through your own work or through developing the work of others

  • Fluent execution across a range of project types -- PRINT, RESPONSIVE WEB, PRESENTATION, GRAPHICS, SOCIAL, NATIVE MOBILE, VIDEO (edit and motion graphics), PHOTO, ETC. -- Plus, demonstrated willingness and ability to add / learn new skills quickly and easily... This position is a strong balance between product-oriented work (UX / UI) and brand-focused initiatives and the workload consequently reflects that

  • Push the boundaries visually, disrupt the marketplace in both concept and design and try new ideas whenever possible

  • Actively participate in the give-and-take of an iterative design process

Leadership (20%)


  • Motivate, and manage your co-workers within Inmar Creative, leading by example, not by an overly directive approach

  • Empower designers on the team at all levels by providing resources, feedback and inspiration to help streamline and elevate the work of those around you and be open to the ways they can do the same for you

  • Understand team dynamics and how to best work with each member of the team and achieve the best outcomes in concert with them

  • Basic understanding of team-building and HR principles

Influence (20%)


  • Inspire, open minds, create unexpected creative outcomes in your own work and the work of others

  • Present overall strategy and your work effectively, articulately communicating design rationale to teams and overall stakeholders within the organization

  • Advocate for user-centered design, experience optimization and product improvement

  • Be a total team player from strategy and vision through execution

Strategic (10%)


  • Understand and help drive to overall strategy for Inmar, the team, brands, campaigns, products and the work

  • Begin to understand and balance the full range of audiences for the work, from internal stakeholders to external audiences to marketplace needs and creative team desires

Required Qualifications:


  • 10+ years of real-world applied digital design experience

  • You show a demonstrated ability to lead teams

  • You show an ability to prioritize projects as well as a sensitivity to the best creative investment opportunities (for a range of reasons)

  • You understand how to balance resources, capabilities and needs to achieve the best work, most strategic outcomes, satisfied stakeholders and successful creative

  • Strong UX design principles

  • Rock-solid visual design skills :: You are a layout + typography + color rockstar

  • Awesome spoken and written communication skills

  • Mastery of design tools : Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Principle, Flint, Premiere

  • Mastery of the tools that our sales channels use (or at least a solid knowledge of them) : Powerpoint, Google Docs, Etc.

  • Ability to lead / direct photo / video shoots

  • Ability to manage outside vendors, keeping them on-track, on-time, on-budget and aligned to specified vision.

  • Willingness to work on a full range of projects : From the cool (We’re doing some really awesome stuff) to the keep-the-lights-on work (Sorry… There’s some not-so-glamorous stuff, too)

  • Total attention to detail

  • Ability to work on an ego-free, highly collaborative and cross-functional team

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic corporate environment

  • Strong sense of humor and willing smile are also BIG pluses
