Lending Training Specialist at First Federal Savings Bank in Twin Falls, Idaho

Job Description:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Prepare and conduct training with bank staff on a variety of lending-related topics, including in-person training, conference calls, and webinars/Teams trainings.

  • Assist with creation and maintenance of training curriculum for Mortgage and Retail Lending staff.

  • Under direction of the Lending Compliance and Training Manager, ensure that changes to policies and procedures are communicated and implemented timely.

  • Stay abreast of legislation, regulations and compliance issues regarding the lending function.

  • Create and publish training materials, handouts, tools, and other resources.

  • Act as a subject matter expert on lending compliance, loan products and services, and lending systems.

  • Assist with creating career development pathways and training certification programs for Mortgage and Retail Lending staff.

  • Perform all job duties and maintain compliance with all banking acts, laws and regulations applicable to your job function.

  • Coordinate with various departments within the Bank to ensure lending staff receive training on procedures that impact lending staff.

  • Travel to branched and departments to provide in-person instruction.

  • Works with the Lending Compliance Specialist to provide lending compliance training for all staff.

Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • May review loan files for compliance with all Federal regulations, loan policy, and lending procedures and provide training and feedback to lending staff.

  • Assist with development of training curriculum for the Business Banking Department.

  • Supports the Lending Compliance Officer by ensuring staff complete loan applications accurately for compilation of the Bank’s LAR.

  • Assist with monitoring of compliance and make recommendations to management for implementation as they pertain to compliance within the lending area.

  • Carry out additional projects as assigned.

Qualifications Required

(Required education may be satisfied by experience and/or working knowledge)

A High School Diploma or equivalent. Two (2) years of experience in lending and one year of experience conducting or developing training.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Sitting for extended periods of time, requires close visual acuity and the ability to work and operate computer applications and equipment including copy machine, telephone, scanner or other basic business equipment.  Some travel is required for training staff.  The job is within the normal office environment range.

Qualifications Preferred

An Associate’s degree and at least two years’ experience in lending (preferably within a bank). Two years’ experience conducting or developing training. An intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
