Bose's Automotive System Division (ASD) is seeking an EMC Engineer III to be a member of our EMC validation team.

We are looking for an individual who is driven by their curiosity and is willing to grow.

In this role, the candidate will be responsible for supporting EMC validation efforts for ASD.

This individual will be involved in all phases of the product life cycle (Advanced Development, Engineering Evaluation, Design Validation, Process Validation and Continuous Engineering) for Bose automotive audio amplifiers.

This is a "hands-on" position that will require the person to collaborate with several different engineering teams, from advanced development to product release.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Demonstrate a solid working knowledge of EMC test equipment (such as spectrum analyzers and antennas).


• Participate with the product designers in trouble-shooting EMC test failures


• Work upfront with design teams to review and provide feedback on proposed designs, such as participating in schematic and layout reviews.


• Have an active role in continuous improvement of the EMC lab processes, procedures and tools to enhance our test accuracy, efficiency and repeat ability


• Setting up of EMC tests to assure that all good EMC laboratory practices are being followed

Must have the following skills, abilities and experience:

• Strong interest in working in the EMC field


• Hands-on EMC testing experience infast paced, client focused environment, including test setup, execution and report generation.


• Automotive/OEM industry and a basic understanding of amplifier technology is desirable.


• Proven ability to communicate, both verbally and written, concepts, ideas, and routine details to various levels of technical and non-technical engineering and management personnel.


• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.


• Strong knowledge of basic electronics


• Experience with electronic measurement


• Excellent problem-solving abilities


• Ability to work independently


• Experience with any facet of EMC, RF, or audio design is a plus


• Must be open to domestic travel up to 5%

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of hands on professional experience in this field (EMC test environment).


• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.


• iNARTE Certification desirable.

• ctronic measurement and reporting, excellent problem solving abilities


• Strong interest in working within the EMC field


• Experience with soldering of electronic components including SMD parts.


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required


• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word applications.


• Ability to work independently.


• Experience with any facet of EMC, RF, or audio design is a plus.
