Coordinate and conduct failure analysis projects at third party metallurgy labs
Conduct field site investigations of pipeline or station/plant incidents
Perform WPS/PQR reviews for projects, capital and O&M
Support Procurement department regarding purchase of pipeline components
Support Project Management - proficient in addressing pipeline and facility/plant projects from a material and welding perspective
Participate in design reviews for pipeline systems, pipeline assemblies and compressor stations
Audit pipe mills, fabrication shops, valve manufacturers, etc.
Coordinate PMI destructive and non-destructive testing projects
Support LNG facilities with respect to material issues and welding matters
Provide in-line inspection (ILI) anomaly repair guidance per Company procedures and industry standards
Revise Company O&M Procedures and Engineering Standards related to materials, welding and non-destructive testing methods
Administrative :
Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% of the time is required; motor vehicle and air travel anticipated to support projects and field investigations on site
Ability to travel to field sites on short notice
Self-sufficient in completing timesheets, expense reports, and other Company paperwork
Ability to conduct lab investigations at third-party labs with some physical work required, i.e., handling small pipe samples (
Must be proficient in computer software applications including Microsoft Office
Must have well developed organizational skills, be proficient in oral and written communications and be able to work with minimal supervision
Satisfactory driving record as determined by the Company and a valid state driver license is required
Required to carry a company cell phone and be available during non-working hours
Must be able to work in a team environment, take direction from supervisor(s), adhere to work schedules, focus on details and follow work rules

Position Requirements
Requirements :
Degreed metallurgical engineer, Bachelor of Science degree minimum
5 - 10 years of pipeline industry experience
Professional Engineer certification is a plus
Proficient in Pipeline Industry Standards, i.e., including but not limited to API, ASME, ANSI, MSS SP, AWS
Knowledge of DOT/PHMSA regulations 49 CFR Part 192 and Part 195
Welding engineering experience with a focus on welding procedure specifications and procedure qualification records review per API 1104 and ASME Section IX
Design knowledge of pipeline systems per ASME B31.8, B31.4, B31.3, & B31.1
Procurement experience with pipe, valve, fittings and other pipeline accessories including compressor stations, pump stations and chemical plants
API Q1 auditing knowledge, and experience with conducting and coordinating audits
Proficient in conducting failure analysis projects - field investigations and metallurgy lab
Proficient in Positive Material Identification (PMI) tools and techniques
Knowledge of In-Line Inspection tools and anomaly repair methods
Knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM) - mechanical integrity and fitness-for-service evaluations
