SUMMARY
Oversee the day-to-day execution of the corporate strategy development and annual planning efforts of the organization. Work with key business unit leaders and their teams to develop 3-5 year strategic plans to drive growth, enhance the brand, and deliver superior performance. This includes managing internal consulting teams to identify key strategic opportunities, act upon competitive and market forces, and seize new business opportunities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Internal Strategy Consulting (80%)
Lead and contribute to the development of key Business Unit (BU) and corporate strategies on growth, brand, performance, talent, shared services, new business models, and other similar issues
Manage a strategy project from formulation to delivery and manage the project team’s work
Build and maintain relationships with business unit leaders, their teams, and members to help develop the strategies
Dissect problems into manageable pieces and develop framing questions for how to solve them
Develop and test hypotheses using qualitative and quantitative research and analysis, inductive and deductive reasoning, abstract thinking, and root-cause analysis
Drive development of strategy recommendations and ensure connectivity between the recommendations and other key Institute and business strategies
Present key deliverables and recommendations to senior leadership
Collaborate with internal teams (such as the Innovation and Market & Competitive Intelligence teams) to identify new product, service, and businesses to drive growth and eminence
Recurring Strategy and Planning Processes (20%)
Contribute to development of the Association’s 3-5 year strategic plan with business executives and leadership
Manage the annual planning process, which aligns to the 3-5 year strategic plan
Lead discussions with key internal leaders, members, and third parties to understand market opportunities, develop strategic conclusions, identify key initiatives and drive alignment to strategy
Monitor / review annual plan performance and identify areas of risk or variance, and recommend actions for mitigation
Develop year-end organizational analysis, which is presented to senior management team and Compensation Committee
Manage the Association’s enterprise risk management (ERM) program

Proven ability providing structure to ambiguous business problems through sound logic, critical thinking, and the use of strategy and consulting frameworks
Superior ability to perform secondary research, identify relevant information, and distill insights from large sets of unstructured data
Ability to develop financial models and risk analyses
Ability to translate logic and insights into actionable recommendations
Strong oral and written communication skills, including the visual depiction of complex ideas
Ability to work with, and present to, senior leadership (e.g., C-level executives)
Superior client relationship management skills
Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with colleagues, teams, members, and staff at all levels of the organization
Project management experience, driving a project from kick-off to completion
Proven ability to work with and manage cross-functional teams
Negotiation skills
Expert in the use of MS Excel and MS PowerPoint

Ability to work cross-culturally and on international assignments

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
5+ years of experience in corporate strategy and/or top tier consulting firm
EDUCATION REQUIRED
Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION PREFERRED
