Responsibilities | The Mercer University School of Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine is seeking a full-time faculty to provide full time clinical practice at Mercer Medicine. The Department offers participation in Grand Rounds, committee work and community service opportunities. Clinical practice and pre-clinical training is through Mercer Medicine. The mission of the school is to train physicians and other healthcare professionals in primary care and service to rural and underserved populations in Georgia. This position is expected to maintain a financially viable clinical practice at Mercer Medicine. This position will also be responsible for supervising and teaching students and residents in clinical training and provide clinical oversight on an inpatient and outpatient basis. This is a 12-month faculty position and will report to the Chief Operating Officer and Managing Partner of Mercer Medicine on a clinical basis and to the Chair of the Department of Internal Medicine on an academic basis. The department faculty is small enough to have a positive, supportive and collegial atmosphere. The department faculty consists of clinical Internal Medicine physicians and sub-specialists. The department also interfaces and collaborates with the other basic science and clinical departments, including Family Medicine, OB/GYN, Psychiatry, Pediatrics, and Community Medicine. |
