Emerson is looking for a full-time Data Analyst who will be responsible for working with Internal Audit to develop data driven audit procedures using data analytics and process automation. This individual will be responsible for extracting financial data from the Company’s ERP system, analyzing the data through MS Power Platform, Power Excel, and SQL and communicating results to the Internal Audit team for further interpretation.

Additionally, this individual will work on project-based assignments for the Internal Audit department to create additional analytics and automate different areas of the audit program. Candidates should have a willingness to learn and implement new technologies as well as inform the business on the benefits of technological adaptation.



 
AS AN INTERNAL AUDIT SR DATA ANALYST, YOU WILL: 


  • The primary responsibility is to work with users on automating their business processes through the combination of data analytics and the Power Platform.

  • Identify opportunities for business improvement and develop and implement plans through to completion.

  • Develop and maintain SQL queries in a data warehouse that can be leveraged in Power BI / Excel reports.

  • Participate in the Emerson Intelligent Automation Center of Excellence to understand and bring best practices back to the Internal Audit program.

  • Performs other duties as requested by Internal Audit Management.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:


  • Bachelor’s degree or higher

  • 2-5 years of work experience in a technical or data driven field

 PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:  


  • General technical knowledge, aptitude and desire to learn new technical skills

  • Strong analytical problem-solving and documentation skills

  • Project management skills and familiarity with project management tools

  • Communicates effectively with users

  • Above average skills in all Microsoft Office products

  • Experience developing reports and Microsoft Power Query, Power BI, and/or Power Pivot is a plus

  • Power Automate (Flow) and Power Apps experience is a plus

  • AI/Machine Learning experience is a plus

  • SQL experience is a plus

  • Understanding of Oracle and/or SAP ERP systems is a plus

  • Understanding of HFM and ability to work with HFM Adhoc is a plus

  • Audit and/or Finance experience is a plus
