POSITION OPEN: SALES MANAGER - INTERNAL SALES

WORKING HOURS: M-F 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; extended hours as needed.

SUMMARY: The Sales Manager drives all aspects of Sales and Program Management as a "hands on" Sales Professional in an Electronics Manufacturing Environment. Also handles administrative functions of the department including supervision of/coordination with Program Managers, Sales Administrators and other team members. Reports to the President of Sierra.

Sierra Microwave Technology has successfully produced high quality, high performance, and component parts in the Aerospace and Military industries for over 30 years. Sierra is part of the HEICO Electronic Technologies Group which produces electrical and electro-optical systems/components serving niche segments of the space, aircraft, defense, communications, and computer industries.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Develop and exhibit a strong knowledge of Sierra's products and services utilizing a solid technical background. Will learn the products parts and functions and understand the scientific and engineering processes that make these products work.

  • Able to read and understand technical specifications, drawings, and interpret customer requirements. Understands the technical and business drivers, pain points, requirements of the prospect or customer, and translates those into opportunity winning solutions based on Sierra's products and services.

  • Participate in the entire Sales life cycle from prospect qualification, to quote, contract negotiation, order placement, shipping and invoicing. Equally effective and successful managing this process utilizing phone, email, in person meetings, Web ex and other business tools.

  • Collaborates with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Management, Supply Chain and Finance in order to deliver successfully to the Customer and to provide management with forecasts and processed metrics data.

  • Supervises and engages Program Managers, Sales Administrators and other team members and their workflow in a positive and productive manner.

  • Represents the company with integrity and professionalism - is front facing to the Customers.

  • Deliver compelling presentations either remotely or in person; able to articulate a sound business case to Engineers, Buyers and others.

  • Other duties as assigned by company President.


REQUIRED SKILLS, ABILITIES, and EXPERIENCE:


  • 3+ years demonstrated experience as a Sales Manager, Inside Sales Manager, Account Manager, and/or a Sales Engineer; selling technology based hardware or related products.

  • Ability to work well with a team; leads the team in responding to Customer needs with a sense of urgency.


  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and remote presentation tools. Ability to quickly learn new software.

  • Possess analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Possess excellent mathematical skills, quickly able to calculate client quotations.

EDUCATION:

  • A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or other Technical/Business education background combination. (Advanced Engineering degree a plus but not required).
  • Business degree, certification, or focus in combination with an Engineering degree is a plus.

OTHER:


  • Must be organized and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities.

  • Successful candidate thrives under pressure, is resilient and tenacious while being respectful; reflects a nimble and energetic approach.

  • Military experience and/or understanding of government requirements helpful but not required.

  • Eligibility to obtain Department of Defense "DOD" Security Clearance in the future.
