ARLANXEO has a new career opportunity available for a Category Manager at our Pittsburgh Corporate office.

As a Category Manager, you will be responsible for leading & managing chemical raw material sourcing and supply risk management to support North American production facilities.

This role will also identify opportunities to reduce 'Total Cost of Ownership', provide supply continuity, deliver on quality and service expectations, and work with Global Procurement colleagues to implement cohesive global procurement category strategy for his/her assigned chemical raw materials.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Develop, execute, implement and manage category procurement strategies that meet or exceed all business requirements to include quality, security of supply, and cost competitiveness.


• Manage ongoing supplier relationships by serving as the primary contact for all commercial items including, but not limited to, contract management, pricing, supply and quality issues, supplier evaluations and customer complaints.


• Manage and execute contract negotiation process of contracts on domestic chemical raw materials


• Ensure all key performance indicators are achieved including cost savings, supplier evaluations, risk assessments.


• Maintain communication with global colleagues to share regional market information and to ensure NORAM strategies are aligned with or support global strategies to optimize global purchasing leverage.


• Take ownership and actively manage the specifications, supplier base and contracts for assigned categories


• Studies market trends, interviews, researches & audits suppliers & determines those who can supply raw materials on a global &/or local basis at the lowest overall cost to the corporation

In order to accomplish this you will possess:

• BS/BA in supply chain or logistics, engineering, business, finance/accounting. An MBA is of advantage.


• C.P.M. certification is of advantage.


• 3+ years practical experience in strategic procurement and procurement.


• Ability to critically analyze spend, market or other relevant data in order to gain insights, draw conclusions and make recommendations in support of procurement strategies and initiatives. Ability to effectively communicate analyses and recommendations to peers and management for approval.


• Demonstrated experience negotiating all aspects of supply agreements.


• The ability to influence and persuade individuals at all levels of the ARLANXEO organization to gain support for key procurement initiatives.


• Experience with sourcing tools including eSourcing/eAuction platforms, spend analytics, risk mitigation, SRM/SPM, contract management, and P2P platforms.


• Proven organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with minimal supervision.


• The ability to work professionally and effectively with Senior Managers in direct support of their objectives.


• Proficiency with Excel and Power Point required. Experience with SAP S4/Hanna preferred.
