POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Analyst, Retirement role is a senior-level business/systems analyst and benefits administrator on the Total Rewards Operations team within HR Shared Services. In this role, the Senior Analyst will lead, implement, maintain, and use Workday and external vendor partner systems and processes to administer the Company's retirement programs successfully, efficiently, and effectively.
The Senior Analyst requires expert knowledge of the federal/state/local laws and regulations that govern retirement benefits (defined benefit, defined contribution, and other benefits) as well as knowledge of the Company's benefits programs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Apply expert knowledge of Company's retirement programs to design and test internal HR and external vendor partner systems and processes. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Partnering with internal HRIS team and third-party vendor partners to design, implement and maintain systems and reporting for the successful, effective, and efficient administration of retirement programs, including researching/resolving issues and researching/implementing enhancements
Leading and analyzing complex business requirements, systems functionality and capabilities, and systems specifications
Drafting complex analysis documents
Leading, developing, and executing complex functional and regression test plans and test scripts, including creating test scenarios and test cases
Leading and deploying tested and approved complex systems and processes to end users, including developing and delivering training materials
Leading, identifying, and resolving complex and escalated system and process errors and issues
Complete day-to-day operations work in compliance with applicable federal/state/local laws and regulations, and consistent with the Company's total rewards philosophy, plan designs, and processes. Ensure upmost quality and customer service. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Leading, reviewing, and approving defined benefit calculations and participant forms leveraging third-party technology
Leading and processing complex defined benefit transactions (e.g. commencement of benefits, rollovers, and QDROs)
Leading, reviewing, and approving defined benefit payments in trustee payment portal
Leading, reviewing, and approving defined contribution participant data and payroll deductions
Leading, reviewing, analyzing, and approving benefit events and benefit elections data in Workday in accordance with the Company's benefits program rules and in compliance with laws and regulations
Leading and working with external vendors to research and resolve participant issues
Working with Analysts and Senior Analysts on the team to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve internal HR and external vendor systems and process issues
Completing internal audits, external audits, nondiscrimination testing, and other audits as required
Completing census reports, government filings, and other reporting requests as required
Completing compliance-related requirements, including analyzing issues, correcting errors, and helping ensure proper quality controls are followed to avoid future errors
Monitoring Workday integrations to ensure they run successfully and according to requirements, including researching and resolving discrepancy reports from vendor partners. Work with Analyst and Senior Analyst to identify and correct problems and implement fixes
Working with HR Communications and internal/external print vendors to prepare, print, and distribute participant communication materials and mailings, including required legal notices
Delivering training and guidance to the HR HOME Contact Center and HR managers
Mentoring junior members on the team
Leads, responds, to, and troubleshoots inquiries and issues escalated from junior members of the team. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Analyzing and resolving complex and difficult participant cases and inquiries in accordance with the Company's benefits program rules and in compliance with laws and regulations
Analyzing complex information and data (employee-provided, system generated, etc.) to identify problems, determine root causes, and resolve issues at the root cause
Delivering exceptional customer service to internal (HR, managers, employees) and external (terminated employees, retirees, dependents, beneficiaries, and other related persons) stakeholders, including handling difficult conversations and situations
Performs/completes special projects including but not limited to process improvements, automating procedures, annual audits, compliance activities, and testing of systems features and functionality.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Education
Bachelor's Degree is required
Experience
At least 4 years of experience in retirement benefits administration
Prefer at least 4 years of experience with Workday or other HR/Benefits systems
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail
