Test Analyst

Position Summary

The Test Analyst will provide technical support to MDA in planning, modeling, and analyzing flight and ground tests using certified tools and processes to predict system behaviors and performance; gather and reduce test data; and assess test performance. We provide this support in cooperative work environments with other entities such as launch vehicle contractors, radar facilities, ground test facilities and flight test launch ranges. Test analysts provide data and analysis to assist with test event planning and converting test results into useful information for system development and improvement. The Sensors Directorate is focused on various radars that support the Missile Defense Agency missions.

Duties & Responsibilities

    Support Integrated Master Test Plan (IMTP) development by providing technical recommendations on flight test designs, target requirements/trajectories, and flight test requirement allocations
  • Ability to coordinate with multiple Radar product offices and weapon systems on emerging flight and ground test data needs and evaluate the best solution within testing constraints.


  • Analysis or engineering experience with Missile Defense radars
    Knowledge of ground test planning and execution

  • Knowledge of IMTP cost model and application of test rates
    Knowledge of MDA Director's Program Review, Missile Defense Annual Review, etc processes
    Demonstrated ability to utilize Matlab, Systems Tool Kit or other analysis tools

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Secret clearance required
