Job Summary

The Fixed Asset Staff Accountant position will play an integral role in the accounting and tracking of fixed assets and capitalized leases under IFRS 16.  This position addresses tight deadlines and will support other corporate accounting initiatives including general ledger accounting, audit preparation, and ad-hoc reporting and analysis.  

Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain database of capitalized leases under IFRS 16


• Maintain fixed assets within the fixed asset accounting system (FAS)


• Prepare fixed asset, capitalized lease asset, and intangible asset rollforward schedules


• Assist in the administration and tracking of capital expenditure projects through the capital expenditure approval process


• Monitor lease portfolio for key dates related to termination and renewal options


• Support the month-end close, annual audit, and corporate general ledger processes


• Assist in special projects and ad-hoc reporting and analysis as needed

Skills, Knowledge and Ability Requirements

To be considered for the Staff Accountant position, the following conditions must be met:

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting or Finance

• 1-3 years of functional accounting experience


• Good understanding of GAAP


• Strong interpersonal skills and positive attitude


• Effective written and verbal communication skills


• Solid time management and organizational skills


• Attention to detail and a strong work ethic
