We are seeking a Registered Nurse who has expertise in neuroscience and stroke nursing practice and has demonstrated leadership and management skills to


  • Direct the planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care programs for the D6/4 neurosciences and stroke patient population and works with associated intensive care and progressive care units and clinics as appropriate.

  • Prepare and administer revenue and operating budgets and oversight for unit-based FTEs.

  • Work with Nursing Administration, Hospital Administration and University Faculty to assure the delivery of quality patient care and promote education and research.

Education:

Minimum – MS in relevant area with BS in Nursing.

Preferred – MSN.

Work Experience:

Minimum – Three (3) years of relevant experience in neurosciences. Progressive nursing leadership experience with demonstrated success. Current regulatory, accreditation, and TJC experience.

Preferred – Clinical experience in Neuroscience and Stroke care.

Licenses and Certifications:

Minimum – Registered Nurse (RN) licensed in the state of Wisconsin.

Preferred – CNRN and/or SCRN.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:


  • Managerial skills necessary to plan, organize, direct, and control the nursing operational activities.

  • Strong political and negotiation skills that are conceptual as well as practical.

  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills necessary to interact with all levels of hospital personnel and external parties. Must be comfortable with an interdisciplinary culture of collaboration.

  • A passion for excellence, which elevates the abilities and competencies of the various patient care providers.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with meticulous attention to details.

Physical Requirements:

Light: Ability to lift up to 20 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds.

Work Schedule:

This is a Day position with eight (8) hour shifts, Monday - Friday: 8:00AM-4:30PM. No weekends and no holiday rotation required. Hours may vary based on operational needs of department.
