Job Description:

The Global Brand Specialist for the Global Marketing and Communications team is charged with bringing branding management expertise to the organization by ensuring the brand is managed consistently and effectively across all audiences. The Global Brand Specialist will be the single point of reference and expertise on the Sonoco brand and sub-brands partnering with key stakeholders to define positioning and utilization of brands across markets. Responsible for the implementation of Global Brand Strategy, this role will be critical to ensuring brand guidelines are current, socialized across the organization, and effective in enabling all marketing teams to drive awareness. This role will collaborate with product marketing, division marketing, legal, human resources, customer insights and creative teams to establish brand guidelines that empower others to drive awareness for all company brands and monitor brand reputation in the marketplace.

What you'll be doing:


  • Own theBrand Center of Expertisein the organization by implementing the strategic vision, process support, and methodology to align our brands across divisions and regions. Also responsible for building brand guidelines that enable alignment of brand positioning.

  • Help define Global Creative Content that aligns with brand books globally and delivers on brand strategy and objectives by region

  • Provide Media Mix suggestions that amplify the brand positioning with relevant KPIs to measure successful campaigns

  • Participate in the develop new brands and cross segments synergies where they exist being mindful of brand positioning fit

  • Partnering with Marketing teams to crafting our differentiation strategy

  • Work to enhance brand perception and equity globally, by putting all the tracking and measuring tools in place to monitor brand reputation.

  • Immersing all stakeholders in the strategic imperative and value of global branding alignment

  • Collaborating with Marketing, Sustainability, Diversity & Inclusion, and Foundation representatives to ensure brand positioning represents core values, culture, and positioning to prospective and existing employees, community partners, and other key stakeholders.

You will be based at our corporate headquarters in Hartsville, SC which is close to many exciting destinations (Myrtle Beach, SC; Charleston, SC; Columbia, SC and Charlotte, NC). This position is to work from the Hartsville office 2 days per week or as needed with the option to work from a home office as work responsibilities allow.

We'd love to hear from you if:


  • You have a Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience required. Degree strongly preferred (in Marketing, Communications or Business preferred)

  • 3-6+ years of Marketing or Communications project management or business partner experience required

  • Computer Skills (Systems may change or be updated to reflect new business needs): Microsoft Office package which includes Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint.
