FARO is looking for a reliable, organized and detail-oriented accounting professional to become a valuable contributor to our Finance team. He or she will play an enormously important supportive role, keeping our company's financial outlook bright with precision and proactive measures.

The Staff Accountant will have direct contact with the Assistant Controller as well as other members of the Company's management team, which requires strong interpersonal verbal and written communication skills.

You have:

• Strong analytical and accounting skills.


• Hands-on experience with SAP or other large automated ERP/accounting system is preferred.


• Advanced level proficiency and power user of Microsoft Excel is strongly preferred.


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Self-starter with good organizational skills and follow through.


• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting with great attention to detail.


• Able to adapt to changing priorities and unexpected situations.


• Team player and be ready to help where needed.

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in accounting or Finance, CPA preferred or CPA eligible.


• One to Three years in audit or public company accounting experience.


• Fluency in a foreign language is a plus but not required

How you will make a difference @ FARO:

• Perform monthly close activities including analysis and preparation of journal entries to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.


• Prepare monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations, including but not limited to bank statements, prepaids, AP, Accrued liabilities, tax payable and intercompany general ledger accounts.


• Organize and maintain fixed asset documentations for references. Monitor and report monthly capital expenditure to management.


• Document business processes and adhere to accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.


• Assist with preparation of year-end audit work papers and responses to audit inquiries.


• Ad-hoc project completion and continuous process improvement initiatives.


• Provide support and address audit requests stemming from internal, external audit.


• Respond to inquiries from Manager, Revenue Accounting and Director, Corporate Accounting regarding a variety of financial analysis.

Physical Requirements:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, talk and communicate, use hands/fingers, feel and reach with arms. This position requires the ability bend or stoop as necessary and frequently lift up to 50 lbs.
