Assists with the financial close process each month in accordance with the close schedule. Under direct supervision, may be responsible for part of the close
Maintains Company fixed assets in Great Plains
Prepares bank reconciliations
Supports preparation of supporting workpapers for journal entries and account reconciliations
Prepares assigned internal and external financial statements, may include SEC reporting, and performs monthly reviews of the financial statements and analyzes monthly variances against historical performances
Documents and maintains internal controls in compliance with SOX 404. Documents accounting policies and procedures. Maintains a good working knowledge of the guidelines set forth by GAAP as they apply to the Company. Researches and documents accounting treatment for business transactions
Assists in the preparation of financial information requested by the external auditors during the quarterly reviews and annual audits
Participates in projects to implement new systems and optimize the utilization of existing systems
Supports multiple department or process accruals. Partners with department finance partner(s) to analyze contracts and financial results and provide support for financial forecasting

BS/BA degree and 2+ years of relevant experience

Prior experience with ERP Systems such as GreatPlains
Strong Excel skills

Experience in accounting field with emphasis on general ledger and fixed assets
