What You'll Do
The Education Specialist - Cardiology is responsible for the coordination and implementation of nursing clinical education programs and clinical competency maintenance for the OHI/Cardiovascular service line.
The successful candidate will be able to:
Collaborate with the director of nursing and nurse managers to meet department needs
Plan, organize, and execute the education and training programs for new and established employees
Coordinate the orientation of new and transferred employees
Prioritize pre and post course paperwork in an organized and timely manner
Maintain oversight for the maintenance of all service line nursing staff education records and competency documentation
Asses at regular intervals the staff education needs of the service line and initiate focused education as needed
Assist with statistical data on an ongoing basis for monthly or quarterly analysis as related to educational activities
Collaborate with the Education team on global hospital education initiatives as directed
Learn and teach concepts in an organized and meaningful manner
Keep abreast of trends and maintain competence in the area of expertise
Take initiative and work independently as well as collaborate with colleagues and peers
What You'll Bring
BSN required, MSN preferred
Minimum of three years RN experience required
Exceptional verbal, written, and communication skills. The ability to work with diverse constituencies and maintain diplomacy is critical.
An active listener who can synthesize information and facilitate conversations to achieve consensus will be successful in this role
The ability to develop timelines, manage multiple stakeholders, and execute on time is critical
Strong presentation skills
Demonstrated commitment to working independently and collaboratively with various levels of the organization
Adaptable to a fast paced and quickly changing environment, able to prioritize and multi-task in order to meet critical deadlines
