The Project Manager leads RNA projects and campaigns, driving them to completion by coordinating cross-functional activities and ensuring that all departments are meeting deadlines and accountabilities. This role oversees the completion of RNA projects (from development to GMP) through planning, assigning, monitoring, and reviewing progress of work from all participating parties, and evaluating timelines and end results. The Project Manager is a key point of contact for clients during the lifecycle of an order.
Responsibilities
Act as point of contact for clients for lifecycle of order, from execution of the specification forms to the delivery of the campaign reports and documentation
Establish and maintain project plans that includes meaningful timelines, milestones, and internal/external resources
Provide routine and clear communication (as defined with the client and Client Relations team) during the span of a campaign regarding project status information, materials and accomplishment of milestones deliverables
Thoroughly understand Aldevron operations to effectively disseminate client questions to relevant stakeholders throughout the organization
Lead project team meetings and ensure follow-up of actions items, escalating late or lacking internal responses when required
Proactively identify project barriers and generate solutions
Relay changes in project scope, timing, or requirements to the Client Relations team for costing revisions
Ensure all departments have the necessary information for timely completion of their functionality and contribution to the project
Work with Client Relations to establish the priority of projects in the manufacturing queue
Track and tasks and project timelines and provide team with early warnings on possible variances
Track corrective actions and preventative actions (CAPA) through implementation plan approval and deviation form development and routing for deviations related to client projects
Organize efficient and timely information flow across all project participants
Maintain project documentation
Develop status reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations
Investigate and implement new sharing tools, calendar or Gantt options for improved communication and efficiency
Required Skills
Ability to coordinate and facilitate team and client meetings
Ability to possess a strong understanding of the mRNA manufacturing
Ability to effectively capture decisions, actions and outcomes from meetings with appropriate follow up
Ability to resolve and/or escalate issues internally and externally a timely fashion and to proper participants.
Ability to maintain productivity during difficult conversations
Ability to communicate difficult and sensitive information tactfully
Ability to work effectively both independently and part of a team
Able to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines
Ability to think critically to identify opportunities for continuous improvement
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Good listening skills
Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office
Must-Haves
BS. required; scientific degree highly preferred
3 years in a similar role
Knowledge of mRNA manufacturing and GMP or similarly regulated processes
Possess a thorough understanding of Aldevron product manufacturing from initiation through release capabilities
