SUMMARY

The Senior Partnership Officer will implement programs, conduct private sector engagement, build partnerships, and conduct social media outreach, as well as complete other related programmatic tasks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • •Implements specifically assigned private sector engagement programs to advance foreign policy priorities for the assigned country(ies), geographic region, or cross-cutting issue(s) (e.g., private sector roundtables, partnership opportunity delegations, public-private partnerships, partnership accelerator programs).
  • • Plans, organizes, coordinates, and conducts work related to the design, implementation, or evaluation of specific private sector engagement mechanisms, including but not limited to partnership opportunity delegations, public-private partnerships, partnership roundtables, and partnership accelerator programs.
  • Conducts briefings, presentations and conferences for GP senior management and performs research or other professional work in the preparation of background materials for the Managing Director's briefings and meetings.
  • Represents the Office at meetings and conferences as directed by his/her supervisor or higher level manager.
  • Maintains liaison with staff members of the appropriate Departmental bureaus and missions and a wide array of external private sector organizations, including but not limited to for-profit businesses, trade associations, private philanthropy, foundations, academic institutions, faith-based groups, and other non-governmental organizations.
  • Conducts on event planning, program implementation, social media outreach and other various activities as assigned.
  • Conducts market research to identify external partnership opportunities and strategic areas to establish public-private partnerships that directly support foreign policy priorities.
  • Monitors, tracks, and acts upon trends in private philanthropy, corporate social responsibility, and untapped in-kind resources available in private sector.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of communications plan for individual GP partnerships and initiatives and develops content for the office's broader outreach and communications.
  • Creates content for one-pages, toolkits, and distribution lists to inform Department staff and engage external stakeholders.
  • Conducts briefings for Department staff on partnership development.
  • Prepares narrative reports containing a statement of the issue or problem, background, observations, options for change, and recommendations for action based on analysis of observations, review of program related documentation, research of precedent studies, and application of standard guidelines.
  • Carries out special projects and other duties as required.

SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY

This position does not have management authority or supervisory capacity

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE


  • Experience in an office environment, preferably within the U.S. government.
  • Experience using qualitative and quantitative techniques for analyzing and measuring the effectiveness of programs.
  • Knowledge of laws, regulations, policies, and procedures related to due diligence, conflict of interest, and public-private partnerships.
  • A bachelor's degree plus at least three years of related work experience OR a master's degree plus two years of related experienced.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Strong written and oral communications skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, must be able to work well with senior officials, staff and interns.
  • Strong organizational skills, a customer service orientation and excellent execution and follow through skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Secret clearance is required and must be verifiable in JPAS or DIS
  • Ability to successfully pass a drug screen and a background investigation.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position is primarily performedin a controlled office environment
