Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) is seeking a summer intern to be part of a unique marine oil spill and marine renewable energy research, testing, and training facility at Ohmsett - The National Oil Spill Response Research & Renewable Energy Test Facility located in Leonardo, New Jersey. We are looking for a well-qualified candidate who has interest and experience with experimental research and testing. You will work with other members of the Ohmsett team as the site goes through a periodic maintenance turnaround. In particular, the 203-meter wave tank will be drained, and critical maintenance will be performed during the summer of 2021. You will be presented with an opportunity to see and assist with this important and challenging process. You will also have the opportunity to participate in any ongoing research projects that may take place concurrent with the tank project.
A knowledge or aptitude related to chemistry, mechanical, civil, or ocean engineering, and/or field testing is needed for this position. Successful applicants need good communication and interpersonal skills and should have the demonstrated ability to solve problems.
Student pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Science or Engineering.
