This position will report directly to the Nurse Manager and Nurse Director. The Med Surg Assistant RN Manager will collaborate with the Nurse Manager to ensure efficient operational flow and excellent patient care quality. Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, the Med Surg Assistant RN Manager will be supported by a staff of professional nurses.

The Med Surg Assistant RN Manager will be responsible for a variety of entities in the unit. This includes, hiring nursing staff and the onboarding process as well at maintaining employee retention. The Assistant RN Manager will assist in the implementation of improved quality care practices. The Med Surg Assistant RN Manager will be responsible for creating development plans, and supporting the common goal of excellence in care for the department.

The Med Surg Assistant RN Manager will partake in the evaluation of department revenue and expense budgets. Ensuring proper equipment and tools are adequately provided for nursing staff. They will work with other management members to meet budget goals and increase operation efficiency.
