POSITION SUMMARY

The Director, Global Master Data Management reports directly to the VP, Chief Information Officer and is responsible to model, maintain and enhance the processes, tools, and teams to support our Master Data Management (MDM) and Enterprise Data Quality initiatives.

The Director, Global MDM is accountable for the strategic direction and oversight of the MDM program direction which includes ensuring that the data model is robust and complete, defining the processes and tools to maintain master data across a variety of global contributor/subscriber systems, enforcing data quality policies and standards in collaboration with various functional stakeholders, directing a team of direct and indirect team members to execute the program, to implement best practices to improve our overall data management and data quality.

This leader will partner closely with leaders and data stakeholders in the functional domains to identify opportunities to leverage MDM and data quality efforts to improve business results.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Responsible to direct the team responsible for the development and maintenance of MDM hub (Profisee) and integration technologies for supporting data ingestion, transformations and loading data into the MDM hub.
  • Responsible to manage a team to build and operate the MDM processes and tools, which will be include internal staff and external contractors.
  • Ensure that processes are defined, implemented, and controlled to maintain the MDM hub configuration including data modeling, data Mappings, data validation, Hierarchy Manager, security and other areas as required within MDM.
  • Responsible for the implementation of master data governance processes by engaging with functional leaders to define and capture data definitions, business rules and data qualities rules for master data.
  • Build frameworks and quality control mechanisms to ensure highest levels of data integrity.
  • Continuously review MDM domain models to ensure that they reflect the best available enterprise-wide data according to domain definition.
  • Lead the team in continuing enhancement and review of MDM matching rules, data quality and validation processes.
  • Constant monitoring of master data against the currently used data in various business processes to identify the gaps, discrepancies and the opportunities to further improve quality of master data.
  • Influence the development of additional capabilities to deliver business outcomes through the use of data and analytics within the MDM hub and ecosystem.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop direct and indirect reports to inspire high performance and professional growth.
  • Lead and supervise groups researching strategic business data and conducting MDM data analysis.
  • Maintain knowledge of the trends and technologies in master data management, enterprise data quality, data services and integrations.

TYPICAL CANDIDATE BACKGROUND


  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field
  • 10 or more years in IT, architecture, and leadership roles related to Data Management and Analytics.
  • Knowledge of Master Data Management concepts and techniques including modeling, data loads, data lineage, metadata and Master data usage.
  • Familiarity with ETL products is required.
  • Comfort working in a global business environment that is undergoing process and technology changes.
  • Embraces a strong cultural sensitivity and awareness that different business processes and requirements exist and will require harmonization.
  • High level organizational and project management skills in order to handle multiple concurrent assignments in a timely manner.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Proven ability to effectively collaborate across functional disciplines and geographies.
