Safety Specialist at Ultra Global Business Services in Woburn, Massachusetts

Under the direction of the Director of Operations this position is responsible for the development, implementation and sustainment of environmental, health and safety (EHS) programs to ensure the safety of all employees, visitors and contractors while maintaining compliance with all federal and local regulations. The Safety officer will conduct inspections and training requirements for facility to familiarization with safety policies, procedures.

• Promote and sustain the safety, health, security, and welfare of all employees through regionally based environmental, health and safety (EHS) programs


• Develop, deploy, and monitor all EHS programs, procedures, policies, and standards in a manner that ensures compliance to Federal, State, Local, Customer regulations and aligns with the Regional Specialist RF EHS Manager.


• Conduct accident and near miss investigations on significant incidents and provide guidance to department supervisors or managers conducting investigations on less serious incidents.


• Cultivate "a zero-incident mentality" throughout the organization

  Performs Annual OSHA training
  


• 
  Implements all of the company safety rules
  


• 
  Conduct new hire and ad-hoc safety training and necessary for employees to meet or exceed all regulatory requirements and to conduct jobs in safe manner.
  

• Auditing production, keeping on the lookout for any unsafe behavior or breaks in regulations


• Assessing risk and possible safety hazards of all aspects of operations


• Creating analytical reports of safety data


• Inspecting production equipment and processes to make sure they are safe


• Ordering repairs for unsafe and/or damaged equipment

Required Skills:

• AS or BS Degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Chemical Engineering, Organizational Leadership or related field


• Maintain a current First Aid/CPR/AED certification


• Ability to obtain a US Government security clearance. Security clearances are granted to U.S. citizens.

• Experience implementing EHS standards, training and legal compliance


• Experience in leading cultural change across an organization; experienced in leveraging multiple approaches to helping people adopt and implement controlled sustained change.


• Demonstrated experience in leading continuous improvement activities and programs, leveraging processes, tools and best practices.


• Excellent "soft skills" in communicating effectively with all levels of the organization


• Effective in influencing change across functional and demographic boundaries


• Proficient in use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Skype for Business, etc.)
