Royal Building Products, a vinyl siding manufacturer in Columbus OH, has a full-time opening for a Quality Assurance Technician. This position is responsible for inspecting, documenting and reporting the quality of incoming purchased finish goods as well the inspection of any and all questionable inventory prior to being shipped to the customer. This position reports to the Supervisor - Quality and is responsible for but not limited to: re-inspection of on-hold and return products, assisting with product evaluation, compiling and issuing daily and monthly reports and working closely with production to identify and resolve manufacturing problems.OUR BENEFITS INCLUDE:Medical (with Flexible Spending or Health Savings Accounts), Dental and Vision insurance beginningDAY ONEof employment

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESInspect all products in assigned areas, including but not limited to hold areas, manufacturing and the warehouse
Document all in specification and out of specification conditions
Execute the immediate action procedure when defective product is detected
Monitors appearance, color and specifications closely on all incoming finished goods
Monitors on a daily basis that all Quality checks are being performed as communicated
Assist in recommending dispositions of defective product
Prioritize job duties to react to the most urgent quality issues and optimize time efficiency as defined by Supervisor - Quality
Maintain an effective working relationship with the QA department and with other departments
Perform other duties and special assignments on any shift as required by supervisor

QUALIFICATION & SKILL REQUIREMENTSAbility to use and interpret precision measurement instruments (i.e., calipers, micrometers and gauges)
Ability to understand blue prints
Good interpersonal communications skills, both written and verbal
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
Forklift license or the ability to obtain is highly suggested
Knowledge of products used a plus

PHYSICAL DEMANDSWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to hold, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear. The employee must lift, carry and/or move up to 50 lbs. frequently. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. In addition, mobility to cover 2 facilities (North & South Plant) is required.WORK ENVIRONMENTThis position works in a fast-paced manufacturing facility. Noise level commensurate with large machinery. Ear and eye protection must be worn at all times and steel toed shoes and long pants are required. Temperatures, although maintained, can be effected by outside weather conditions.
