POSITION SUMMARY
 
The Commodity Analyst is responsible for the accurate and timely entry of goods receipts & returns into SAP, working with Buyers, AR Invoicing personnel, AP Analysts, Chemical & Sand Coordinators, and the Finance team on accurate recording of entries.
Key Accountabilities


  • Ensure that materials are received into SAP accurately and timely. 

  • Oversee the tracking of chemicals and sand products to the delivery point and the return of unused products. 

  • Work with Buyers, AR Invoicing personnel, Chemical & Sand Coordinators, AP Analysts and Finance on items of discrepancy. 

  • Perform reconciliation of products for month end closing. 

  • Communicate with suppliers and customers to provide and obtain accurate and timely shipping/receiving information to eliminate service failures and unnecessary delays. 

  • Provide accurate, valid, error free and complete information verbally and written into various computer systems. 

  • Help manage third party logistics and shipping accounts by working collaboratively to secure low cost shipping options while monitoring third party service factors such as on-time pick and deliveries. 

  • Provides coaching and mentoring in all aspects of procurement and leadership. 

  • Facilities meetings between all parties when issues arise. 

  • Independently assess the need for rental, on site repair, or commodity.  Negotiate cost and with Vendor as needed to secure materials.  Singly code invoice charges to the correct cost center and account number to allow for Non-PO Invoice processing.

  • Use discretional knowledge based on multiple years of service to review Commodity use in operations and planning. Negotiate spend, discounts, and rebates with Vendors.   Manage rebates, credits, and other returns of money to NexTier are entered into AP system.

  • Unassisted creation of monthly accruals to assist in calculating Financial Statements.  Information sent to Finance for upload directly from individual analysis.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Previous accounting experience.

  • Proficient in SAP and Microsoft Office.

Minimum Required Education
  • Bachelor's Degree - Preferred
Minimum Required Work Experience

  • 3-4 years relevant oil and gas experience - Required

  • 4-7 years account management experience - Preferred
