Role Overview:

The Clinical Solutions Product Manager is responsible for defining the product strategy and roadmap in partnership with the Vice President, Clinical Solutions through prioritization of the backlog based on a thorough understanding of market/customer needs. The Product Manager provides functional expertise and leadership in the design, documentation, development, testing and implementation of the product. The Product Manager performs ongoing support of the product including documentation and creation of user stories for annual product updates, reports and enhancements, updating product User Guides, conducting User Acceptance Testing, and providing Subject Matter Expertise on the product. The Product Manager will work with internal teams and other stakeholders to create user stories to meet the needs of stakeholders with the goal of improving competitive positioning within the HEDIS marketplace. The Product Manager will demonstrate the ability to effectively prioritize the product backlog, as well as display good judgment and critical thinking to address business problems.

Role Responsibilities:


  • Drives product development within assigned development teams and in partnership with the Delivery Manager by creating and maintaining user story backlogs

  • Contributes to product planning and execution oversight throughout the product lifecycle, including gathering and prioritizing detailed product and client requirements for new report or product functionality development or modifications to existing reports or product functionality to help define the product vision and product backlog

  • Leads the prioritization process in partnership with the Vice President, Clinical Solutions for the product backlog with input from key stakeholders

  • Accountable for leading the development and execution of annual plan for documentation and training specific to products in partnership with project management team

  • Works with key internal and external stakeholders to refine requirements before and during sprint execution

  • Assesses innovation opportunities for inclusion in product backlog/strategic plan in partnership with the Delivery Owner, Lead Architect and Vice President, Clinical Solutions

  • Collaborates with internal partners on quality improvement opportunities

  • Understands and agrees to role-specific information security access and responsibilities

  • Ensures safety and confidentiality of data and systems by adhering to the organizations information security policies

  • Reads, understands and agrees to security policies and complete all annual security and compliance training

Role Requirements:


  • 4 years' experience in Healthcare, Quality and technology with strong HEDIS expertise

  • A proven track record of progressively responsible experience

  • Strong working knowledge of healthcare system, data analytics, product management/development and/or health care operations with a minimum of 7 years of experience working with payers, providers, and or employers or with a health care data analytics vendor

  • Industry experience working with NCQA and other regulatory programs with strong working knowledge of quality data sets such as HEDIS, ACO, QRS, P4P and CMS Stars

  • Strong understanding of HEDIS data integrity, analytics and reporting

  • Knowledge of related regulations including HIPAA, CMS and other related regulations

  • All elements of project management and implementation

  • Highly proficient in MS Office Suite and strong overall process flow and project management capabilities

  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with HEDIS quality measurement, including an understanding of Technical Specifications

  • Excellent analytical and modeling skills

  • Proven ability to work with multiple product development teams to understand interdependent requirements for Minimal Viable Product (MVP)/product solution and prioritize work to meet project timelines and/or client commitments/deliverables

  • Adept at partnership and collaboration both internally and externally

  • Strong one-on-one, small group and large group communication skills

  • Ability to understand product needs across different client types and translate those needs into specific product requirements that will deliver customer value.

  • Excellent judgment, critical thinking and decision-making abilities

  • Possesses strong project management, interpersonal, communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to effectively plan, develop and coordinate multiple projects

  • Ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels throughout the company and externally with business leads/ providers at the medical groups

  • Possesses strong process management and relationship building skills

  • Bachelor's degree required, graduate degree preferred
