Job Description:

Quality Engineer / Program Manager

The role offers global exposure within NI and to our customers and enables the Quality team to be agile in reaching business goals and objectives by driving effectiveness and efficiencies in quality processes and tools. The ideal candidate will possess skills in adaptability, influencing, business acumen, communication, continuous improvement, decision making, driving for results, initiating action and managing conflict. This person will work across functions to determine risks and mitigation plans during development, ongoing monitoring of deployed systems, and support system level (cross-product) and key customer escalations.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Quality Issue Management

  • Form cross functional teams to work on resolving complex customer issues

  • Develop detailed action plans and assign tasks to relevant team members

  • Oversee the various aspects of complex escalations for strategic customers and drive to efficient closure

  • Act as the key contact person (and connector) for customers and internal functional teams

  • Provide regular communications and updates to stakeholders and customers (create communication plans)

  • Perform risk assessments and develop mitigation actions to ensure continuous progress of issue resolution

  • Drive root cause analysis to identify permanent corrective actions to prevent issue from recurring
  • Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university

  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills

  • Deep cross-functional relationships

  • Strong leadership in escalation skills - leading effective meetings, understanding issue management concepts, customer success focus

  • Technical background: Engineering, or other technical degree preferred

  • Program Management experience

  • Experience in Quality, Engineering, Software, Analytics or Business Analyst role

  • Self-motivated, proactive and able to deal with ambiguity
  • Position Preferences

  • PMP or other Project Management certification preferred/desired

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills including failure analysis and root cause analysis

  • Familiarity with NI Customer Escalation process desired

  • Ability to tie business/customer needs to technical needs

  • Experience with both NI Hardware and Software products, including functional test, control and monitoring systems

  • Experience with direct customer interactions and/or account issues management
