The successful candidate in this role will fill the role of Technical Project Manager or Product Owner as defined for the Scrum Agile methodology. The candidate will identify/liaise with/categorize stakeholders, analyze quantitative and qualitative business values of software projects in the company, capture and manage priorities of project requirements, perform requirements refinement driven by a product backlog model, and manage the requirements aspects for the development team.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Build effective working relationships with key stakeholders within the organization.
Identify, prioritize, and evaluate new candidate projects or change projects relating to development.
Capture requirements for projects and successively refine them, using just-in-time just-enough agile values.
Write detailed and clear user stories for development and Quality Assurance(QA) teams.
Manage the requirements delivery within an agile development team.
Work with developers, QA, and the Project Manager to prioritize bugs and resolve blocking issues.
Participate in Scrum Agile process activities according to the product owner role (planning, prioritization, estimation, daily stand-ups, review and retrospective meetings).
Manage and prepare reports back to management on team progress and projected delivery dates for backlog work items.
Qualifications and skills:
Four-year college-level course of study in IT or a related field, or equivalent training and/or work experience.
PMP certification preferred.
Prior experience in a product owner role in a Scrum or XP environment.
Knowledge of TFS (Team Foundation Server) or equivalent tools to capture user stories and tasks.
Extensive experience of business analysis and requirements capture/refinement within a rapidly changing customer-facing development environment.
Knowledge and understanding of requirements-driven development and user acceptance testing is needed.
Must have excellent verbal, communication, presentation and written skills.
Detail-oriented, well organized and able to handle multiple tasks. Able to work independently with minimum guidance.
Strong analysis and documenting experience. Excellent interpersonal troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Management experience is desired, though this role will be primarily collaborative as an individual contributor.
