Overview

Two Six Labs is seeking an Embedded Systems Security Engineer to create and develop novel security applications for embedded systems supporting the Two Six Labs Cyber group. In this position a successful candidate will support a wide range of new research and development projects, focusing on embedded system security. This isn't a typical vulnerability research position, you won't be staring at IDA all day. This is a hands-on research position, creating the next generation of cutting edge vulnerability vectors and exploitation techniques.

Responsibilities

This position may be best suited to those of us that are described by the word "hacker". If getting down and dirty with embedded systems, looking at a wide variety of devices with novel attack vectors, and generally hacking new technology together to exploit target systems, this job may be for you.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have:

• A strong foundational knowledge of computer science and software/systems engineering


• In depth experience with Linux on embedded hardware platforms


• Experience with embedded systems debugging (JTAG/UART/Oscilloscopes/Logic Analyzers)


• Experience with wired and wireless networking protocols and hardware


• Experience working as part of small R&D teams composed of researchers, engineers, and scientists


• Hardware reverse engineering experience


• Desire to perform cutting edge research on embedded technologies, this isn't your typical security position where you will just be pumping out vulns and staring at IDA.

• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, or related Scientific Domain


• Strong oral and written communication skills


• Fluency in C, C++ and Python programming languages


• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance

• An advanced degree (Masters or Ph D.) in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, or related Scientific Domain


• Firmware development experience


• RF Expertise


• Experience with Layer 1 and 2 wired and wireless protocols such as USB, SPI/I2C/1-Wire, Ethernet, PCI-Express, 802.11, Bluetooth/ZigBee.


• Hacking experience on IoT products


• An active DoD security clearance
