About the Team:

This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performance development team that is transforming the customer and dealer experiences associated with purchasing GM products, including Electric Vehicles (EV's). The Finance function performs a critical cross-functional role in driving GM's business success including improving company financial performance, managing cash to fund major vehicle programs, and reporting results and managing investor perceptions. Global Finance IT provides innovative technology solutions to support these objectives. We deliver value at high speed through an intense Customer focus coupled with domain expertise and business savvy. We are innovative, dependable, reliable, and collaborative.

In this software development role, you will be responsible for developing software applications using sound, repeatable, industry standard methodologies. You will have the opportunity to work hands-on writing software or solutions, based on detailed requirements and system specifications. Development activities will include updating existing software and/or developing new software solutions to address a specific need or solve a particular business problem. Additionally, you will drive development activities in accordance with appropriate methodologies and application of a repeatable, systematic and quantifiable approach to the development process. You will coach/mentor software developers and will review the software being developed. This role will also work closely with architects and/or data scientists to ensure code alignment with design patterns/frameworks.

About the Role
The candidate will be responsible for new application development, analysis, design, estimation, programming, automated testing and code debugging. This role encompasses designing and developing technical solutions for Savings Plan systems including core application Digital Savings Plan customized from Newcon COTS as well as customer interface Plan Chevrolet Online Self-Management and Payment Card Industry subsystem, transforming functional requirements into technical specifications through design, program code, unit test, debug and troubleshoot. The Senior Developer is envisioned to be part of the full life cycle of the Savings Plan Multi-Year Program including the Digitalization and Stabilization transformation, Business Uplift to operational excellence, Analytics adoption and Technology Improvements.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform requirements analysis incorporating rapid prototyping
  • Produce software design and architecture
  • Write clean, scalable, cloud-native code
  • Test and deploy application modifications
  • Revise, update, refactor and debug code
  • Support mid-level developers' work
  • Improve existing software, handling all quality aspects, including but not limited to performance, scalability, maintainability and security
  • Develop documentation throughout the software development life cycle

Additional Job Description

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Over 7 years of proven experience as a .Net/C# Developer (ASP.Net Framework 4.x, .Net Core 2.x)
  • More than 3 years of proven experience as Java Developer
  • Expertise in Angular 9 / Bootstrap 4
  • Command in REST API and SOAP Web Services design and implementation
  • Proficient in T-SQL and Microsoft SQL Server
  • Experience with Pivotal Cloud Foundry, Weblogic application server and CA Release Automation
  • Familiarity with Delphi programming languages desired
  • Experience coaching, leading and mentoring junior developers
  • Hands-on experience in Azure DevOps for end-to-end development using Work Item Management, Version Control, Testing, Build/Release/Deploy capabilities
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies and Service Management ITIL concepts
  • Up-to-date in infrastructure and IT trends such as Cloud Computing and Continuous Integration
  • Excellent troubleshooting, collaboration and communication skills; Attention to detail
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
  • Advanced English required, Spanish preferred
