Mercer (US) Inc. is seeking candidates for the following position based in the Chicago, IL office:
Senior M&A Consultant
We will count on you to:
Provide leadership and infrastructure development, management and improvement. Support cross line of business ("LOB") mergers and acquisitions ("M&A") business development.
Contribute to the development of Global M&A Consulting Services through participation in management, operations and special projects.
Work with M&A Engagement Managers and M&A Coordinators on US and multinational M&A projects for private equity and corporate clients, involving single or multiple LOB, to provide leadership in the delivery of client solutions.
Provide leadership and momentum to cross-LOB teams and clients for M&A project success.
Provide project management services to establish, maintain and improve project infrastructure.
Lead and participate in delivery of culture, playbook, training and other M&A projects.
Leverage LOB consultants to deliver on subject matter expertise.
Oversee M&A Coordinator within context of specific projects.
Identify and close on value added opportunities for the client throughout the M&A engagement. Support M&A Engagement Manager business development activities, including developing materials, researching clients, prospects and offerings, preparing proposals, engagement letters, SOWs, conducting conflict checks, managing M&A protocols, managing M-Drive and Webcas requirements.
Participate in client-facing business development activities.
Support development of the business, including IC development, special projects, compliance, and professional development.
What you need to have:
Must have a Bachelor's degree or a foreign equivalent in Business Administration, or a related field, plus six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered, or as a Senior Consultant (Senior Manager), Consultant, or a related position.
Must have six (6) years of progressively responsible experience with:
Working on multiple workstreams and multinational consulting projects;
Developing detailed project work plans across multiple workstreams, including ability to identify and manage key dependencies; Working across various areas of HR, including benefits, compensation, workforce, labor, culture, and compliance; Developing and executing on scope of work and proposals using product and market knowledge; Analyzing workforce demographics, identifying trends and assessing risks using MS Excel, IBM SPSS, and OrgVue; Analyzing labor costs; reviewing and analyzing projected financial statements, balance sheet, income statement, and trial balances to understand costs; Identifying potential risks and financial implications of transactions on human capital related expenditures; Interpreting data to conduct compensation benchmark studies; and Project management. 10% national and international travel is required to various and unanticipated company and client sites.
