Position Summary:

Operations/Production hours are 24 x 7 and requires working varying hours

This position may require approximately 5% travel and work/maintenance coverage beyond the normal hours, shift, and on weekends/holidays.

The incumbent is required to work effectively in a fast-paced high-pressure environment, understands and meets internal and external business needs with professionalism and a sense of urgency.

Must be able to execute to plan in any of the production or warehouse areas/shifts. Must possess leadership and communication ability which encourages teamwork and idea generation while remaining focused on results and process improvement.

Ways You Will Make a Difference:
  • Responsible for directing and guiding operators/leads, for their activities for assigned area/shift in the execution of production and/or logistics plans (receiving, processing, mixing, baking, packaging, shipping, etc.), shift change management and communication, daily production standards and labor reconciliation. May be used as Maintenance Supervisor relief.
  • Participate in the development of and implements plans and policies to ensure compliance in all areas of responsibility. Operates production lines in accordance with FDA guidelines, Good Manufacturing Practices and HACCP/SQF program guidelines.
  • Responsible for team development of employees to insure proper mixing, machining, packaging and logistics in assigned areas according to targeted specifications, to achieve total quality. Develops their leads on all responsibilities associated with their line and promotes a positive attitude. In addition helps to develop new Operations Supervisors in all responsibilities.
  • Responsible for problem solving process to resolve and/or mitigate those operational issues result in negative performance to plan as determined by the established escalation process.
  • Responsible for support of Lean Training as directed by Operations Manager for assigned area/shift.
  • Ensure adherence to all standard work processes, including LEAN processes, 5S, SIC, and OMS
  • Responsible for compliance with all regulations. Food safety - plant in proper sanitary condition at all times, including allergen control, pest control, guidelines followed. Compliance with food safety policies and procedures. Compliance with employee safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensures achievement of all area/shift KPIs; ensure adherence to and continuous improvement for all area/shift.
  • Participate in Employee Relations, Labor Relations, Training (including development)
  • Maintain understanding of processes and functional interdependencies. Recognize and escalate, as needed, those issue identified as potential risks to, or, opportunities to improve plant performance.
  • Drive Ferrara-Values.
  • Prepare for and execute changeovers within guidelines of Lean Standards.
  • Document and escalate supplier issues/non-conformance.
  • Participate in daily food review.
  • Strong troubleshooting, driving to root cause using RCA methodology.
  • Ensure adherence to all standard work processes, including LEAN processes.
  • Responsible for supporting the execution of relevant projects within assigned area / shift.
  • Responsible for supporting talent management process for hourly employees. Ensure Diversity and Inclusion meets / exceeds corporate standards. Proactively engage in the development and training of hourly labor and support such plans developed by plant leadership.
  • Backfill for the Senior Supervisor on shift.
  • Adhere to and administer company policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager.
