As the Production Supervisor you lead the Fort Mill plastic strapping process by systematically implementing and controlling all process to ensure best possible production output and quality control of plastic strapping.  Lead all aspects of a production crew and utilize accountability for safety, quality and operational goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Safety:


  • Emphasize, lead and train on a safe and clean workplace.

  • Reinforce and hold team accountable to appropriate safety policies and procedures.

Quality:


  • Work with Production Lead to ensure personnel are sufficiently trained to perform job duties per work instructions, procedures and policies for safe and quality performance.

  • Utilize Lean Manufacturing to develop continuous improvement strategies to meet and continually improve towards the plants overall goals and objectives and ensure quality of all products produced.

  • Drive waste out of operation and leverage standard work.

  • Utilize and drive ISO process to complete daily jobs. 

Leadership and Operations:


  • Identify the most efficient way(s) to utilize people, machines, materials, information, and energy to make a plastic strapping.

  • Strategize and lead plans to increase productivity utilizing people, process and parts.

  • Study product requirements and assist in manufacturing processes and information systems to meet requirements.

  • Provide data to Production Manager and Quality Department to update manufacturing process control sheets.

  • Organize and train production team to include cross-training.

  • Perform mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing process capacities.

  • Work with Quality Department to assist in methods to ensure product quality and evaluate effects of product design changes.

  • Improve ways to distribute goods and services for production flow.

  • Support Production Manager by providing technical support to help correct production problems.

  • Foster an environment of accountability, partnership and inclusion in terms of performance, attendance and conduct.

  • Assist with estimating production annual capacity planning.

  • Work with Production Manager and Maintenance Manager to provide input of process concerns in support of maintenance projects.

  • Other related duties and responsibilities as required or assigned.

Positions Supervised:


  • Production Lead, Production Operators & Production Team Members

EQUIPMENT KNOWLEDGE:


  • Excellent working knowledge of manufacturing, math, electronics, computers and ergonomics.

  • Knowledge of plastic processing preferred.

  • Understanding of process improvements and Lean principles.

  • Six sigma skills a plus.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or 5 years of manufacturing and/or supervisor experience is preferred.

  • Computer literacy: Intermediate Excel, PowerPoint, Word

  • Ability to work in an ever-changing work environment.

  • Ability to interact with vendors.

  • Strong project management skills.

  • Must get along and interact with all levels of the organization.

  • Must be a good listener.

  • Have a good understanding of material flow and operations sequence.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:


  • Must be able to lift 50-100 pounds. Although limited, must be able to climb stairs and ladders, work at heights up to 50’ and work in confined spaces. 

  • You must be able to work in awkward positions such as kneeling or squatting. 

  • There will be some contact with liquid paint, solvents, greases and oils.
