Based at the Kimberly-Clark Professional (KCP) Division global headquarters in Rowell, GA, the Global PPE Operating System Manager will report to the Global PPE VP and General Manager.  This role will lead development of a disciplined Operating System for business performance management including implementing critical processes for managing strategic projects.  This leader will be expected to provide leadership, vision, and pragmatic support for executing foundational process and tool development and roll-out required to synchronize approaches globally and enable scaling of the PPE business unit.  Further, this leader will provide recommendations to the PPE VP and General Manager around improvement and critical risk management activities as it relates to business and project performance, ultimately acting as a key member of the PPE leadership team.

Key Relationships


  • Reports to Vice President and General Manager of KCP Global Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)


  • Works across the PPE business unit and matrixed leadership team


  • Member of the PPE leadership team


  • Key liaison between Business General Managers (Safety, Scientific, Masks), Finance, Strategy, product supply and key project managers


Major Responsibilities


  • Operating System Implementation and Management:  Lead development of a disciplined Operating System for business performance management including implementing critical processes for managing strategic projects. Includes development of reporting framework, key milestone / deliverables tracking, optimal resource allocation, etc.   


  • Performance Improvement: Monitors performance of business units and critical projects, co-creating improvements with project and business teams to strengthen plans (identifying risks and suggesting improvements in current plans) and ensure results delivery. Lead development, implementation and roll-out of standard work (including KPI’s, milestones, resourcing alignment, tracking, check/adjust mechanisms) to enable performance improvement.


  • Project Management Monitoring and Coaching: Establish required project management infrastructure to enable success for priority PPE projects.  Provide hands-on support and coaching to teams (leaning-in on big projects as needed) to ensure implementation and application of appropriate tools, processes, and resourcing.   


  • Critical Business Process Improvement Change Management: Lead efforts to drive increased efficiency and effectiveness of critical business processes.  Application of standard tools (lean, agile, etc.) and industry “best practices” as appropriate to enable step change improvements in processes needed for more effective business operations.  Support implementation of changes in standard work to ensure process improvements operationalized and sustained.     


Candidate Specification – Key Selection Criteria

The ideal candidate will possess the following key experiences:


  • Minimum ten years experience, including:  



    • 3+ years experience with one of the blue-chip strategy consulting firms


    • 5-10+ years industry experience with proven track record of stand-out results delivery


    • Extensive experience in business performance management, process improvement, information systems improvements (business intelligence), and ideally project management


    • Demonstrated capabilities in lean, six sigma, or agile desired


    • Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced setting: enthusiastic about the potential strategic options facing KCP, well-grounded in pragmatic approaches to structuring options available


    • Experience working in the context of a large, complex, global organization where working across boundaries and leading through influence are keys to success. Negotiates “wins” across functional and sector boundaries


    • Experience in leading and delivering on large complex change programs


    • MBA (or equivalent experience) from a first-tier business school or a Bachelors with extensive leadership and strategy experience


    • Executive presence – is viewed as promotable to a General Manager, line operating role or a broader position within Kimberly-Clark


    • Global perspective. Extra credit for multi-cultural background, including language skills and
      non-American backgrounds
