Process Engineer at PPG Industries in Oak Creek, Wisconsin

Job Description:

As a Process Engineer , you will provide project, process and control engineering support to the Oak Creek Resin Plant. You will be part of a team focused on troubleshooting and continuously improving plant process systems. This position will work closely with Production, Maintenance, and Technical staff to support both day-to-day production needs and longer-term strategic initiatives
Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the first line of support for plant technical issues by providing proactive analytical skills to troubleshoot and problem solve process or equipment failures occurring within the plant.
• Develop equipment and process knowledge to become the subject matter expert for the review and preparation of operating procedures and skills development.
• Drive continuous technical improvements for processes by collaborating with operations, maintenance and quality control to monitor and lead critical process performance in the plant.
• Lead root cause failure analysis and problem solving sessions.
• Participate in hazards analysis and scope development for capital projects.
• Monitor and report on process performance, cost, and operational logistics.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, process safety, codes, and regulations.
• Support new product and technology introductions to the plant, interfacing with global teams including R&D.
• Network with other process engineers to support improvement initiatives.

• B.S. degree, Chemical Engineering
• Strength in creative problem solving to meet business objectives.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster collaborative relationship within all levels of the organization.
• Advanced skill level with Microsoft Office Software.
• Experience in Coatings and Resins production preferred.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing tools and six sigma tools is preferred.
