Overall Job Summary

* The Sr. Project Lead is responsible for the oversight and performance of assigned Project Managers and associated studies in support of Sr. Manager, Project Management. The Sr. Project Lead is responsible for demonstrating superior communication and project management skills when interfacing with Project Management, other departments within BioTel Research, and externally with both Customers and Sites. The Sr. Project Lead is also be responsible for training and mentoring new Project Managers in their assigned Project Management team and providing input to the management team on project placement for new Project Managers. This person supports the Project Managers in KOMs, IM preparation, escalation issues, customer meetings and general activities. This position may help gather and evaluate project management metrics to identify areas of concern and work with the management in Project Management to develop plans to correct these areas. The Sr. Project Lead will monitor company policy and/or process changes and ensure that such changes are correctly adapted into the Project Management department.

* Maintaining a positive, results-oriented work environment by building partnerships, modeling teamwork, and communicating in an open, balanced, and objective manner

* Providing leadership and direction in assigned Project Management Team

* Portfolio Management for project managers working on imaging and/or cardiac in clinical trials

* Working closely with Project Managers during study start-up and ensuring studies are setup per regulatory requirements

* Attending customer meetings, including but not limited to external Kick-Off Meetings and Investigator Meetings as proxy for a Project Manager

* Provide backup for team Manager in absences

* Managing customer expectations and escalations with strong communication and organization skills

* Developing and implementing training programs for new Project Managers

* Training and on-boarding of new Project Managers in Project Management

* Supporting with Metrics gathering and reviewing, as required

* Identifying the need for new or more efficient processes within Project Management and driving the implementation and standardization

* Working with Project Managers to establish new workflows, work instructions, processes

* Working with and acting on cross functional teams to develop and implement company processes and/or workflows

* Participating in sponsor meetings with Business Development to present on operational capabilities including travel as needed

* Participate, as requested by Regulatory Affairs, in customer audits of BioTel Research

Other Duties/Responsibilities

* Managing vendor contracts and relationships with external readers (i.e., radiology, cardiology, oncology), etc

* Working with Business Development on investigating non-core services; building business cases in favor of or against pursuing bids

* Carrying an active, reduced project load operating as a Senior Project Manager

Education and Experience Requirements

* Education: Minimum Bachelor's Degree (preference in Life Sciences or similar) or equivalent education/work experience

* Relevant Work Experience:

o Minimum 5 years of Project Management / Planning / Managerial experience.

o Minimum 5 years' experience managing aspects of clinical trials required

* Licenses/Certifications: PMP Certification preferred
