Description:

Delivers individualized quality nursing care to Lee Health cancer patients and families based on established clinical nursing practice standards subscribed to by American Nursing Association and in accordance with the Florida Nurse Practice Act and the Oncology Nursing Society. Responsible for the safe delivery and documentation of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Possesses a spirit of excellence, clinical competence and dependability. Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to provide direct patient care and administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, immunotherapy and supportive therapy treatments. Documents concise, accurate, and timely according to nursing standards and policies and procedures. Provides a holistic approach of care to meet the needs of the patient which includes not only physical, but emotional and spiritual support. Embodies the mission and vision of Lee Health and The Regional Cancer Center.

Requirements:

Educational Requirements
Required:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing


• For Oncology department, BSN preferred.

Experience
Required:

• Experience Required


• For Oncology department, 2 years Oncology experience preferred.

State of Florida Licensure Requirements
Required:

• Registered Nurse License

Certifications/Registration Requirements
Required:

• BLS (American Heart Association / Basic Life Support)

Additional Requirements:

• Proof of American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) current for a minimum of 90 days after hire date. For units that require American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), current for a minimum of 90 days after hire date.


• For Oncology department, ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Certification or ONCC Oncology Nursing Certification preferred.

Other Requirements

Communication and interpersonal skills, basic computer skills, and customer service skills required. Certification in specialty area preferred. Accepts flexible schedule to meet unit needs. For Oncology department, should be compassionate, emotionally strong and an excellent communicator.
